Fucky Film Review!

The Last Shot

Jeff Nathanson 2004

No one’s heard of this. I bought it based on the cover of the DVD. I liked it a lot, mainly because it’s based on the true story of an FBI agent (Baldwin) who poses as a film producer to bust an organized crime union thing, and actually bankrolls a movie production with FBI money and even hires a poor schmuck (Broderick) to direct the picture. The film belongs to Broderick’s director, and is itself a kind of swan song for Nathanson and poor schmuck directors everywhere . Nathanson is better known as a screenwriter (CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, RUSH HOUR 2, and THE TERMINAL). THE LAST SHOT is the first, and to date, only, film he has directed.
